Udruženje Život s Down sindromom Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine (u daljem tekstu Udruženje) najavljuje Evropski Down sindrom kongres u Bosni i Hercegovini. Datum održavanja je 28-30.05.2020. godine, u Sarajevu. Kongres se organizuje u saradnji i uz podršku Evropske asocijacije za Down sindrom (EDSA).
Cilj održavanja ovog kongresa je međunarodna razmjena najvećih dostignuća i dobrih praksi u oblasti rane intervencije, zdravlja, obrazovanja, rada i drugih važnih oblasti, čijom primjenom možemo unaprijediti kvalitet života osoba s Down sindromom.
Shodno navedenom cilju, Udruženje će osigurati da kongres:
- Naglasi važnost rane intervencije kod osoba s Down sindromom, te učešćem evropskih stručnjaka iz ove oblasti prikaže najnovija dostignuća i dobre prakse;
- Skrene pažnju na važnost preventivnog praćenja zdravstvenog stanja osoba s Down sindromom, te učesnike upozna sa najnovijim istraživanjima, posebno u oblasti genetike;
- Prikaže evropske prakse u oblasti samozastupanja, te pokrene lokalne procese s ciljem uvažavanja prava osoba s Down sindromom na samostalno donošenje odluka
- Prikaže evropske prakse u oblasti samostalnog života osoba s Down sindromom uz podršku;
- Postavi paralelu između evropskih država i Bosne i Hercegovine u oblasti inkluzivnog obrazovanja osoba s Down sindromom
- Predstaviti različite modele uspješnog zapošljavanja osoba s Down sindromom
Pomenuti ciljevi će biti izloženi u uvodnom dijelu kongresa, te ćemo ih dalje razvijati kroz dvodnevna predavanja i radionice, sa stručnjacima iz navedenih oblasti.
Planirano trajanje kongresa je tri dana. Prva dva dana će biti cjelodnevna tematska predavanja, praćena diskusijama u radnim grupama u drugom dijelu dana. Treći dan je rezervisan za usvajanje zaključaka i preporuka koje će se poslati relevantim institucijama i organizacijama.
Kongres osigurava učešće svjetski priznatih stručnjaka iz oblasti koje su važne za osobe s Down sindromom, kao i lokalne stručnjake. Predavači su iz Italije, Irske, Engleske, Njemačke, Francuske, Turske, Portugala, Kanade, Hrvatske, te domaći experti.
Očekuje se da će na kongresu učestvovati do 250 osoba, roditelji, osobe s Down sindromom, nastavnici, ljekari, socijalni radnici, predstavnici ministarstava, lokalnih zajednica, međunarodnih donatora, lokalnih organizacija osoba s invaliditetom, te drugi zainteresovani.

Association Life with Down Syndrome of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (referred to as the Association in further text) announces the European Down Syndrome Congress in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Date is 28-30.05.2020. in Sarajevo. The Congress is organized in cooperation and with the support of the European Association for Down Syndrome (EDSA).
The aim of this congress is to exchange internationally the greatest achievements and good practices in the fields of early intervention, health, education, work and other important areas, whose application can improve the quality of life of people with Down Syndrome.
Pursuant to the stated goal, the Association will ensure that Congress:
- Emphasize the importance of early intervention in persons with Down Syndrome and present the latest developments and good practices with the participation of European experts in this field;
- Draws attention to the importance of preventive monitoring of the health status of persons with Down Syndrome and introduces participants to the latest research, especially in the field of genetics;
- Demonstrates European practices in the field of self-advocacy, and initiates local processes to respect the rights of persons with Down Syndrome to make independent decisions;
- Demonstrates European practices in the independent life of persons with Down Syndrome;
- Draw a parallel between European countries and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of inclusive education for people with Down Syndrome;
- To present different models of successful employment of persons with Down Syndrome;
The aforementioned goals will be set out in the introductory part of the congress, and we will further develop them through two-day lectures and workshops, with experts in these fields.
The planned duration of the congress is three days. The first two days will be full-day thematic lectures, followed by discussions in working groups in the second part of the day. The third day is reserved for the adoption of conclusions and recommendations to be sent to the relevant institutions and organizations.
Congress secures the participation of world-renowned experts in the field of importance for people with Down Syndrome as well as local experts. The lecturers are from Italy, Ireland, England, Germany, France, Turkey, Portugal, Canada, Croatia, and domestic experts.
Up to 250 people are expected to attend the congress, parents, people with Down Syndrome, teachers, doctors, social workers, representatives of ministries, local communities, international donors, local organizations of persons with disabilities, and other interested parties.
